Description:
China, 17th c.H. 30 cm
Seated in vajrasana on a separate cast lotus base issuing a pair of smaller lotuses supporting each a standing female respectively male worshipper, both hands in vitarkamudra and holding a lotus stem flowering along the upper arms supporting a bird and an ewer, wearing dhoti, scraf draped around the shoulders with its streamers encircling the arms and its finials falling down behind his body, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows, the blue coloured hairdo combed in a chignon and secured with an elaborate ajour cast crown set with a minute figure of Buddha Amitabha to its front, traces of gilt-lacquer.
