Cambodia, Pre-Khmer, 8th c.H. 80 cm
Standing in samabhanga, his original four arms all broken, wearing a short pleated sampot fastened around his waist with a section passing through his legs continuing over the skirt while falling down in a pleated fan-shaped part, the front shows as well a pleated textile section falling down over the rim of the sampot, naked upper body, his face displaying an enigmatic smile with almond-shaped eyes below slightly arched eyebrows that run into the nose-bridge, smiling lips, elongated earlobes, his hairdo is combed in three layers of large curls at his back and topped with a high cylindrical mitre, the remains of a strut at the reverse, on base
