A silver-metall kodansu with fine lacquer decoration

16,5 x 14 x 18,2 cm
Rectangular form with carrying handle, mounted in silver-coloured metal and featuring a relief floral decoration, including peonies under a full moon, chrysanthemums, and a wisteria branch over a pond with a goldfish. The front door, hinged, bears gilt decoration on the inside: a bird in flight above a floral arrangement with ribbons, and a table with an Ikebana arrangement on a nashiji ground. The interior comprises three drawers with silver handles, their fronts adorned with delicate motifs of autumn leaves and bamboo. Signed on the underside on an inserted reserve.
