A very fine carved jade wine or libation cup

China, Ming dynasty
L. 14,3 cm
Celadon-coloured jade with partial caramel-coloured inclusions in the shape of a lotus leaf with sculpted foliage and tendrils next to a lotus capsule on the sides. Detailed leaf veins around the wall in flat relief.
Important South German private collection, acquired at Nagel Auktionen, 2.11.2006, lot 1429 according to tradition from an old French private collection
