Description:
North-West India, probably dated 1518H. 22 cm
The centre of the shrine is occupied by a Jain tirthankara seated in vajrasana on a cushion placed on a throne, both hands resting on his lap in dhyanamudra, naked, srivatsa emblem adorning his chest, his face displaying a serene expression with almond-shaped eyes, low ushnisha, parasol above his head flanked by a pair of elephants, surrounded by many minute, mainly seated tirthankara figures, the halo cast with a pair of adorants and the lower part of the throne with a four-armed figure, the reverse with lengthy inscription.
