Twelve depictions of the Bodhisattva Guanyin. Album with twelve sheets, ink on paper. Signature in seal script on the last sheet: "Painted by Zhao Zhong from Wujiang with washed hands." One seal: "Zhong". Each illustration is accompanied by explanatory inscriptions in chancery script, each with two seals of Zhou Nanlin: "Siegel des Zhou...", "Nanlin". The album shows two appearances of the bodhisattva of mercy, Guanyin, in fine line drawings (baimiao) with extensive ink shading: Among others, sitting on a rock in the sea, crossing the sea on a lotus leaf, with the boy Sudhana who sought enlightenment from him, on lotus plants, on a rock with a dragon and standing in front of a large nimbus of flame.
