The other painting shows a Buddhist saint (Chinese: luohan) standing and admiring with delight the small white bird sitting on his left hand. He is dressed in loose robes and trousers made of colored silk, with a brown outer garment decorated with golden flowers.

The paintings are finely worked in bright colours and rich in detail in the style of the Ming painter, Ding Yunpeng (1368-1644) - a devout Buddhist - who was known for his depictions of Buddhist figures - Traces of age, minimally wear, wooden frame with metal mount
