The elegant yuhuchunping vase, with a drop-shaped, bulbous body, rising shoulder and long, tapering neck with a slightly flared rim, stands on a low foot ring. It is decorated in fine enamel colours on copper, with the delicate pink base ("yangcai") covered by filigree flower tendrils and symmetrical arabesques. Large reserves are filled with detailed groups of flowers, including päonias, chrysanthemums and roses, which bloom in bold blue, yellow, green and purple. The ornamental scrollwork borders on the neck, shoulders and feet complement the harmonious overall picture. The painting is characterised by the highest technical precision and vibrant colouring. The four-character mark of Emperor Qianlong in a square on the base in red enamel.

This vase combines the classical archaic form yuhuchunping, whose origins date back to the Yuan and Ming periods, with the sophisticated enamel art of the Qianlong workshops in Beijing. The use of the rare pink fond tone in combination with the elaborate floral ornamentation is a representative showpiece of imperial splendour - Apart from a few small restored enamel flaws, it is beautifully preserved
