Description:

China, iron-red Jiaqing seal mark and period
H. 34,3 cm
Around the wall and neck finely decorated with Shou characters, lotus, flowers and foliage in gold paint. Glazed in turquoise on the inside of the neck and the base.
From old German diplomatic property, by descent to the present owners
Cf. a Jiaqing vase with gold painting, Christie's Hong Kong, 26/11/2014, lot 3280. A double-edged vase with a Qianlong mark and a design of butterflies and moths in gold painting on a blue ground was exhibited in 1992 in the exhibition "Splendour of the Qing Dynasty" of the Min Chiu Society in Hong Kong (cat. no. 228).No. 228).
