Ching, Qing dynasty
Dose 32,6 x 22,2 x 6,4 cm, Tuschestein 29,5 x 19,8 x 2,1 cm
Rectangular shape with slightly rounded corners on four recessed feet. Carved inscription on the cover: "bao jin", four lines of a poem by the Song-period poet Wang Tinggui about duan ink stone and "Bai Juyi ming" in a rectangular cartouche. Inside a fitted anthracite-coloured stone (probably duan type stone), the round ink well surrounded by inscriptions in various calligraphies: "Qingya Xuan", a poem by the Song-period poet Yuan Shu with signature "Li Wen", a pair of lines of poetry and a six-character Daoguang mark.
