Laos, 18th cent.

Seated in sattvasana on a separate pedestal decorated with vines, standing on a hexagonal base, his right hand lowered in bhumisparshamudra while the left rests on his shoß, clad in uttarasangha and samghati, his face showing a serene expression with lowered eyes beneath arched eyebrows reaching to the bridge of the nose;His face shows a calm expression with lowered eyes under arched eyebrows reaching to the bridge of the nose, lips smouldering, earlobes flat, hair curled into the ushnisha and crowned by a separately cast flame, traces of gilding and black lacquer.
