Japan, 18th century and mid-19th century

A parrot sits on a wooden tree stump with its head tilted and its chest feathers glistening, its eyes inlaid in yellow. It is possible that the wooden trunk is an addition. The kagamibuta plate made of shibuichi, in coloured relief a crown on a vine with leaves and grapes. .
