Bononia was part of the Italian Gavina Group. In 1962, Dina Gavina acquired the rights from Marcel Breuer to reissue his designs from the 1920s. Gavina/Bononia produced the armchair from the late 1960s through the 1970s. Production by Bononia marks an important era of Italian re-editions, prior to Knoll becoming the standard producer.
