A bronze jug and oil lamp

Persia, 10th/11th cent.
H. 27/ 29 cm
Around the body inscription bands and ornaments in flat relief. Greenish patinated bronze.
From the collection of the art dealer and collector Saeed Motamed (1925-2013), collected from the 1950s onwards, largely documented in inscriptions from 1998 through drawings and Persian descriptions. Partly documented in exhibition catalogues since the 1970s. These two bronzes are published in Dexel, Thomas: Handwerk und Kunst in Persien, in: Staatliches Museum Braunschweig, 1991 - Arbeitsberichte, p. 44, no. 29 Inventory 1998, nos. 1600 and 1604, p. 181 - Minim. rest., traces of age
