The broader stripes, which alternate with narrow patterned sections, are decorated with centrally halved, two-colored "Parmakli" motifs. The color scheme of the upper and lower halves alternates along the horizontal striped panels. This is an early kilim in delicate, antique colors, indicative of its origin in western Anatolia.
From a significant European private collection, formed between the 1980s and the early 2000s - Cf. Kelim - Textile Art from Anatolia, Kelim-Connection Aachen 2002, plate 6 - Age-related wear, fragmentary. Mounted on linen.
