Description:

Karapinar region, Central Anatolia, circa 1800
313 x 153 cm
Among kilims with striped compositions, this piece belongs to an intriguing group notable for its generous use of undyed, natural brown camel hair, typically woven in monochrome bands alternating with multicolored panels featuring various patterns. In this example, the panels are framed by white-and-brown zigzag borders.
