A complex pattern of ascending hexagonal motifs with archaic lateral hooks decorates horizontally arranged panels in alternating colors. This antique kilim is characterized by a rich color palette, including yellow, light green, aubergine, wool white, indigo, red, and apricot.
From a significant European private collection, formed between the 1980s and the early 2000s - Cf. A Nomad’s Art: Kilims of Anatolia, The Textile Museum, Washington (2018), The Megalli Collection, page 70, plate 12 - Age-related wear, brown areas corroded. Minimal staining. Mounted on black fabric.
