The wooden handle is completely clad in repoussé brass, the steel axe head decorated with depictions of humans, animals and floral motifs, partially inlaid with gold.
From the collection of the art dealer and collector Saeed Motamed (1925-2013), collected from the 1950s onwards, largely documented in inscriptions from 1998 through drawings and Persian descriptions. Partly documented in exhibition catalogues since the 1970s. - Rusting, minor wear
