Double case with fish skin. Repercé openworked silver case with domed glass. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, Arabic minute track, alarm disc and decorated hands (enamel slightly damaged). Signed ‘Romilly Paris’ on the movement. Engraved, fire-gilded spindle movement with twisted movement pillars, ornamental openwork spindle balance bridge, ruby capstone, silver regulating disc, quarter repeater and striking on ground bell. Clock and movement in good condition, no guarantee of functionality. Total weight approx. 1100g. Traces of age.

The construction of the Repercé has been known since 1580 circa. These openwork cases were necessary for clocks with alarm mechanisms or self-striking mechanisms, and later also for repeaters, to allow the sound of the bell to escape
