A large huanghuali cabinet

China, Qing dynasty, ca. 17th cent.
182,3 x 113 x 54 cm
Of rectangular form, the pair of panelled doors displaying well-figured huanghuali grain, framed within mitred borders and mounted with brass lockplates and hinges. Raised on straight stile supports joined by a shaped and scalloped apron, the warm honey-brown timber exhibiting a rich, lustrous patina throughout.
