Description:

Japan, late 17th/early 18th century
L. 8 cm
Supported by his left arm, the dancer wears a mask with a pinched mouth, the "bird helmet (torikabuto) sits on his head, the garment engraved with tendrils is striped from the right shoulder and the long train is folded back and covers the feet. Very good patina.
