Description:

Japan, Mumei (unsigned), attributed to Masahiro, Hizen School. Edo period, Kanbun era (1661-1673).
Klinge: 67,0 cm
Katana of typical Kanbun-shintō sugata with shallow curvature. Finely forged itame-hada with abundant ji-nie. Nie-deki gunome-midare hamon with a strong nioiguchi, accompanied by sunagashi and kinsuji activities. Mounted in koshirae with an iron Kinai-school tsuba carved with a dragon, iron fuchi-kashira decorated with gilt floral motifs, shakudō menuki depicting family crests, and a black and brown kawarinuri lacquer saya. With shirasaya, NBTHK Tokubetsu Kichō and Hozon papers, and oshigata.
