Description:
Thailand, ca. 19th cent.H. 74 cm
Seated in vajrasana on a lotus base with his right hand lowered in the bhumisparshamudra while the left is resting on his lap, wearing diaphanous monastic garment, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows, elongated earlobes, curled hairdo continuing into the ushnisha and topped with a lotus bud, traces of gilt- and black-lacquer.
From a private South German collection. The collector lived in Bangkok and Hong Kong from 1980 to 2010, where he acquired his collection pieces prior to 2007 - Wear, traces of age
