Made of a green lampas textile with calligraphic zigzag decorative bands with gold threads, including Koranic verses and the Muslim creed. Textiles with calligraphic decoration like this one were used as burial covers for Ottoman sultans since the 17th century.
Former German private collection, acquired prior to 2007 - Minor wear, in some places a few loose gold threads and slightly discoloured.
