The plate and the dishes are finely and delicately enamelled with a lady seated playing a qin accompanied by her attendant holding a fly whisk, all in a fenced garden with pierced rocks and trees beside two cranes and an open window. The scene is encircled by a floral band in blue enamel, and the flat rim is decorated with shaped cartouches decorated in gilt enclosing flowers, all on a silvered ground.
