Greyish discolored stoneware, completely covered with a creamy white, very finely crackled glaze. Matching wooden box (kiri-bako) with inscription: Inside: Korai chawan, Muneyuki zo; Outside: Katade, chawan. Bag (yasume-bukuro) made of orange-red padded crepe silk. Bowl (komagai-nari) with diagonal walls and slightly flaring lip on a high foot ring. Turned on the potter's wheel and with turning grooves. Inside and more clearly at the foot firing spur marks. The lip with silver lacquer repairs.
Possibly from the collection Ulrich Vollmer, Berlin. Acquired probably in the 1990s in Japan - Signs of us, several hariline cracks and a crack to the rim, in the foot below firing cracks On the outside of the wall, three traces without glaze due to the potter's touch during glazing.
