Such weapons are held by wrathful deities, not to harm the meditators, but directed against their obstacles and mental poisons. These present weapons are: Chain, for binding the enemies; Bow and Arrow for targeting; Phurbu for destroying the three basic evils: avarice, hatred and pride; Spear; Vajrahook; Vajra Axe; Vajra Hatchet; Vajra Hammer and Tongs. Most of these weapons each have a five-rayed vajra at their ends to indicate their indestructible power and effectiveness.
