China, Chenghua six-character mark, Kangxi/ Yongzheng period

In the centre a deer grazing under a pine tree in a fenced garden and lingzhi, surrounded by more deer alternating with rocks, foliage and lingzhi branches, bamboo on the outside.
Formerly from an old private collection of North Rhine-Westphalia, collected before 2007 - Compare a related doucai saucer, similarly decorated with deer under pines, Xuande six-character mark, Kangxi period, in the Shanghai Museum Collection, illustrated in Kangxi Porcelain Wares from the Shanghai Museum Collection, Hong Kong, 1998, pp. 262-263, no. 170.
