Description:
China, 19th to early 20th c.B. ca. 100 cm, L. 720 cm
Silk damask, satin weave. Both selvedges are preserved. The design shows large swastika with ribbons, ruyi sceptres and stylized rocks between waves. Three characters are woven into a strip at the beginning of the weave: Geng Zhi Tu (images of plowing and weaving), dealer's inscription written in ink Chinese characters.
South German private collection, acquired by the grandfather between 1926 and 1940 in Beijing, since then in the family through inheritance - Good condition
