Description:
Tibet, 19th c.H. 38,5 cm
The butter lamp is consisting of various hammered sections set together, the lower part with a tapering cylindrical base embossed with rows of linked petals surmounted by a bulbous-shaped ornament engraved with swaying tassels, supporting the container with widening mouth, the outside decorated with two panels separated by a small horizontal ridged band, the lower one with vases containing various offerings and emblems, each separated from each other with a flower and the upper panel with the Eight Buddhist emblems, again separated from each other with a flower and the inside of the receiver deprived of any decoration. Weight 2,04 kg.
