Tibet, 14th/ 15th c.L. 36 cm
The rectangular cover carved in deep relief with a central cartouche with Buddha Shakyamuni in the centre seated in vajrasana on a lotus base placed on an elaborate throne with his right hand in bhumisparshamudra while the left is resting on his lap, flanked to each side by four different deities, all seated on a throne and surrounded by scrolling tendrils, placed within a pearled border and petal border.
