Description:
Tibet, 14th c.27 x 71 cm
The rectangular cover finely carved with a central panel containing Amoghasiddha seated in vajrasana on a lotus base placed on a throne carved to its front with a pair of lions, his right hand in abhayamudra while the left is resting on his lap, flanked to each side by Buddha Shakyamuni, each seated within a niche and all surrounded by a dense design of scrolling tendrils, within a petal border, the reverse deprived of any decoration and one side with scrolling tendrils, traces of gilding.
