The censer has a compressed body raised on a spreading foot, and a pair of lion-mask handles just below the waisted neck, which rises to a flat rim. The transparent turquoise glaze was fused straight onto the unglazed body, a procedure adopted on ‚Fahua‘ ware since the early Ming dynasty. Intricately carved wooden stand and cover.
