Lotus in Winter. Ink and colors on paper, mounted as hanging scroll. Signature by the artist: „In the jia… year (1984) painted by Yanping“. Two seals of the artist: “Yang” etc.

Yang Yanping was born in Nanjing and graduated in architecture from Qinghua University. She became the wife of the painter Zeng Shanqing and was member of Peking Academy of Painting. 1986 she was awarded Culture and Educational Exchange with China fellowship and settled in Stony Brook, New York, later moved to Port Jefferson. She has exhibited widely in US, Japan, Europe, Taiwan, and Hong Kong and is noted chiefly for her lotus paintings merging Chinese and Western techniques - Good condition
