Pleasure with Birds in the Four Seasons. Set of four Hanging Scrolls, ink and colors on paper. Each scroll with title inscription and signature by the artist: “Spring pleasure. Painted and inscribed by Haifang.”, “Summer pleasure. Traditional customs in Peking recorded and painted together with inscriptions by Haifang.” Etc. Numerous seals of the artist. “Ma”, “Ma Haifang yin”, “Old and young men” (laoshao yemen), “Xin hua”, “”Beijing old men” (Beijing ye) etc.

Ma Haifang was born in the vicinity of Peking and studied traditional Chinese painting at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (Zhongyang Meishu Xueyuan), where made his degreed in 1981. He works as a painter for the China Art Publishing House and so his works are widely known. The vivid and humorous depiction of the old Peking men taking their birds around in the park is combined with the colorful foliage of trees in the four seasons in a modernistic splash technique - Good condition
