Description:

China, 18th c.
H. 25,4 and 25,8 cm
Meiping shape with a very small neck. In colourful émail cloisonné, stylised lotus and tendrils, bats with strings of mice with strings of pearls in their mouths, from which peaches from which peaches and coins or a music stone, stylised wave crests around the foot. Ruyi border around the neck. All on a blue ground.
The first meiping sold at Sotheby's London, 12.3.1982, lot 188, the second sold at Lempertz Cologne, 2.6.2000, lot 270 - One meiping with two dents on the shoulder, the other with few small filled losses to enamels
