Tibet, 18th c.70 x 48,5 (128 x 70) cm
Seated with legs crossed on a lotus base amidst cloud formations, his right hand in bhumisparshamudra while the left is resting on his lap supporting a jewel, wearing monastic garment, his face displaying a serene expression, halo behind his head, surrounded by various scenes, partly with Buddha teaching followers in palaces and temples, partly in the open air and the lower register with a group of worshippers flanking Vajrapani, the reverse with a short inscription and the mantras ‘aum ah hum’ in the Vartula script, in velvet mounting.
