The domed-shaped helmet decorated with half-vajra finial, Vajradhara below at front side, a tiara consisting of five leaves each with a kathagata, each moulded with the specific mudras, partly set with semi-precious stones.
Collection of the Munich art dealer Ludwig Bretschneider (1909-1987), acquired in the late 1970s most likely from Aaalderink in Amsterdam
Similar helmets dated to the 18th or 18th/19th c. were included in the Kemper Collection of Himalayan art, sold Christie’s Amsterdam, 11.20.1994, lot 55 and 56 - Wear, very minor damages due to age
