Japan, 18th c.
L. 53,4 cm
Shinogi zukuri, boshi: ko-maru, dense mokume hada. Nakago: suriage, two mekugi-ana, bohi and horimono on jihada and nakago reading katsujin ken satsujin [ken] 活人刀殺人[剣] (Life-giving sword / killing [sword]). Last character cut off. Very good state of polish.
From an old Wuerttemberg private collection, assembled between the 1950s and 2000 - Certificate of Terasaki Isao dated 1 March 1975 (Shôwa 50) attributing the blade to Ôshû Kaneyoshi and dating it to era Kyôhô (1716-1736)
