Presumably there were originally two leporellos with colour woodblock prints by various artists, all in ôban format. 1) Hokuei (act. early 19. Jh.), Hokushu (act. around 1808-1832), and others. Single sheets, diptychs, triptychs and sheets from a multiple sheet, all depicting actors, all signed and with publisher's seal, many with censorship and date seal. Back cover labeled among others "39 sheets" and in Latin script: "Hokuyei" 2) Toyohara Kunichika (1835-1900)
Single prints from various series, including Zen-aku sanjûni kagami, 1867; Seito awase sanjûroku ku, 1867; Mitate sanjûrokka sen, all depictions of actors, all signed Kunichika hitsu, publisher's and censor's seal. Verso inscribed "58 Blatt''. 3) Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III) (1786-1864): Woodblock prints, triptych, ôban tate-e.
