"Old Brandenstein" relief, decoration of lush bouquets and flowers in purple camaieu, gold rim. Fork mark in underglaze blue / not all pieces marked. Some chips and wear, gilding partially overpainted.

The original version of the court dinner service of the Princes of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt features a polychrome flower painting with the coat of arms of the principality on the rim. It was probably commissioned by Johann Friedrich von Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt so that he no longer had to buy the expensive service pieces in Meissen. It was subsequently also decorated for other patrons with monochrome 1760-1800, edition 1999, p. 200 ff.
