A LARGE AND DECORATIVE VASE WITH APOLLO AND PYTHIA AND THE SCIENCES

Austria, probably Räder & Pilz, Vienna, circa 1880
61,5 x 41,5 cm
Oval body and foot. Cobalt blue fond with rich gold decoration, at the stand two oval cartouches with polychrome painted mythological scenes, the body painted all around with two large scenes depicting the Sciences and Pythia and Apollo. Gilded handles. Inscribed in red on the bottom, and with blue beehive mark. The lid restored, slightly worn.
