The spring, summer and autumn of this series are based on engravings by Wagner after Jacopo Amiconi (1675-1752), the winter model on an engraving by Nicolas de Larmessin after Lancret (1690-1745). Lit. Ducret 1973, figs. 190, 156, 163 and 256. A series was produced in the Limbach manufactory after the same engravings.
