Two celestial gods depicted in large spiral clouds: one is dressed in a long garb and holds a gift in his hands, the other in guardian's gear carries a staff on his right shoulder, next to him is a part of a three-clawed mythical beast. Dark wooden frame.
Formerly European private collection, acquired before 2007 - Three old labels on the reverse of the frame: 1) The Berkeley Galleries, William F. C. Ohly, 20 Davies Street, London, W.1; 2) Tvede Gallery - The Horse House: 23.1.1970. Fresco Sung el. Tang, stammes fru et Tempel, hieraf flere endenu findes, i. England - + 1 hir i. Kobenhavn, D.V.S. Flere Vaeg-Billeder; 3) a printed Sotheby's advert label, Kinesisk Kunst (Chinese Art), 23 Jan. 1990, Copenhagen, expert David Priestley. Handwritten: Bedornt til at varre undsclig Sung altsa fra ca. av 1200/1300 (It is assumed that this is a sung from around 1200/1300).
